The Missouri Wine & Grape Board announced on July 15 that 13 wineries—including several from the metro area—were honored after 8 judges blind tasted 260 wines and awarded gold, silver, and bronze medals. Winning wines and additional label awards will be on display at the state fair in Sedalia from Aug. 7 to 17.
Gov. Mike Kehoe signed Senate Bill 63—also known as the Homeschoolers Sports Act—that lets home school students join public school sports and activities if they pass required tryouts. MSHSAA sent guidelines on July 15 to help schools comply with the law which takes effect August 28, with the fall season starting on August 11 and the first contest set for August 29.
