- ➤ Longview Chapel invites families to join Holy Week events beginning with Palm Sunday services on April 13 at 9 and 10:30 a.m., Maundy Thursday service on April 17 at 6:30 p.m., and Easter Sunday services on April 20 featuring a Children's Easter Egg Hunt during Sunday School—with nursery care available for all. The church will also host a Springo Bingo & Potluck Party on April 26 at 5 p.m. where attendees are asked to bring sandwich toppings as space is limited. Lee's Summit Tribune
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Jackson County Legislature voted 5-4 to pass an ordinance requiring the county to follow a Missouri State Tax Commission order after a March 31 ruling capped 2023 property assessment increases at 15%. County Executive Frank White has not said if he will veto the measure—some property owners rallied outside the courthouse. KMBC
