CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Volunteers at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Lee's Summit are preparing for the annual 'Walk With Jesus' event that offers a self-guided tour through eight immersive rooms featuring local artwork and interactive exhibits to help visitors reflect on Good Friday. The walk-through will run from 3 to 9 p.m. today—organizers hope to draw more than 750 visitors as they expand event hours. KMBC
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ SCA freshman Paige Thomas completed her Girl Scout Gold Award Project, Percussion at Play, with a ribbon cutting and dedication on March 22 at Rotary Youth Camp on Colbern Rd — the park features chimes, xylophones, drums and other instruments for special needs youth and young adults. She raised funds from local donations and Rotary Clubs — Summit Christian Academy praised her leadership and service in benefiting camp activities. Lee's Summit Tribune
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Jackson County officials announced Wednesday that residential property assessments will be capped at 15% in 2025 after a state order failed to offer a workable plan. The county said impact notices will be sent to property owners by June 15 following a 5—4 legislative vote. KMBC
