➤ Metropolitan Community College will host its 17th annual Flights of Fancy Mega-Kite Festival this Sunday, April 27, from noon to 5 p.m. at the MCC-Longview campus at 500 S.W. GOVERNMENT NEWS

➤ The Missouri State Tax Commission issued an order Tuesday requiring Jackson County officials to roll back 2023 property assessments before 2025 evaluations begin—citing a March 31 court ruling that found the county did not follow proper legal procedures.
