  • A fundraiser by E2 Embroidery and Screen Printing raised more than $380,000 from over 36,000 T-shirt sales to support the family of Graham Hoffman, a Kansas City firefighter-paramedic killed in a stabbing in late April. Boxes of blank shirts arrived Monday at the Lee’s Summit location and printing begins Wednesday — with local firefighters and Red Cross volunteers helping to fold, label, and ship orders.  KMBC

  • Summit Christian Academy announced that 2025 graduate Charli Hinton received a $7,000 Venable Scholarship from the Truman Heartland Community Foundation. Charli plans to attend Grand Canyon University to major in Business — focusing on Risk Management and Global Communications.  Lee's Summit Tribune

  • Jackson County officials filed an appeal on May 9 after a judge ruled on March 31 to uphold a Missouri State Tax Commission order capping 2023 property tax increases—county leaders argued the commission skipped proper hearings and announced a 15% cap for 2025 assessments.  KMBC
