- ➤ Lee’s Summit Parks and Rec is implementing a new abuse prevention policy for referees (which sets clear severity levels and lifetime suspensions) to protect officials during local sports events. The updated policy will foster safer environments for community games. KCTV5

- ➤ Multiple chances for showers and thunderstorms are expected beginning Thursday night and continuing into early next week. Friday is set as the first Alert Day with potential hail up to 1 inch and strong wind gusts, though widespread severe storms are not expected. KMBC
