- ➤ Missouri lawmakers are thinking about a ban on cell phones in all schools that could take effect on August 28 if signed into law — local leaders worry the rule will remove students’ chance to learn good phone habits. Superintendent David Buck said hundreds helped shape Lee’s Summit’s own policy last fall — and the new law would allow phones only for emergencies and classwork. KMBC
- ➤ Summit Christian Academy Theatre has received eight nominations for the Cappies Awards with 15 actors and stage crew members competing. Winners will be announced at the gala on May 24 — a student journalism event reviewing local school productions. Lee's Summit Tribune
