- ➤ Today, Jackson County beaches kick off the summer season as Blue Springs Lake Beach at 1500 NE Bowlin Road in Lee's Summit and Longview Lake Beach in Kansas City open for visitors with hours from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends and 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., charging $9 for adults and $7 for kids and seniors — Longview Lake Beach will also host outdoor movie nights with Moana on June 6, Mufasa on July 11, and Inside Out 2 on August 1, with gates opening at 7:30 p.m. KMBC
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Summit Christian Academy announced that senior Abigail Shanahan received the Elks Lodge – Blue Springs Lodge #2509 scholarship for academics and community service—she received a $2,000 award and will attend Rockhurst University to pursue a Doctor of Physical Therapy in Exercise Science and Spanish.
