- ➤ Lee's Summit police said they arrested Thomas Tolbert, 27, before 5 a.m. Tuesday in Ellis, Kansas after he shot an officer during a domestic disturbance at the Residences at Echelon apartment complex on Sunday night— the injured officer underwent surgery Monday and is recovering. KCTV5

- ➤ Summit Christian Academy announced that Savannah McConnell from the Class of 2025 received the $5,000 Linda Harrelson Legacy of Servant Leadership Scholarship in honor of its former head of school. Her award was given on May 9 at Connection Point Church — she was also named Student of the Year and will study Education while playing collegiate soccer at Cedarville University.
