- ➤ Hundreds of thousands of Jackson County property owners are receiving their new 2025 tax assessment notices amid controversy over missing 2022 starting values—Russ Klement of Lee’s Summit said he must contact county officials as his notice did not show the base needed to check the permitted 15% annual increase. Property owners can file appeals on their valuations by July 14 and some unresolved 2023 appeals add to the ongoing concerns. KMBC
