- ➤ Registration is open for the 23rd Annual Tom Logan Memorial Tour de Lakes in Lee’s Summit, with riders of all skill levels invited to choose between a 10-mile loop and a challenging 64-mile route on Saturday, June 21 while all proceeds support the Legacy for LS Parks Foundation. Participants must wear helmets plus youth riders require an accompanying adult with a signed waiver, and early pricing until June 20 will increase to $37 for youth and $42 for adults on June 21. - ➤ A bicyclist in Lee's Summit died when a car struck him at the intersection of SW Jefferson Street and SW Scherer Road early Wednesday morning—police said he was taken to a trauma center where he was pronounced dead. KCTV5

- ➤ Thomas Tolbert, accused of shooting a Lee’s Summit police officer four times on June 2 during a domestic violence call, appeared in Jackson County Circuit Court on June 11th after being extradited from Ellis, Kansas—he faces charges including first-degree assault and armed criminal action, holds a $2 million bond, and is set to return on July 10th.
