Summit Christian Academy celebrated nine graduating seniors by awarding each an Eagle Scholar for excellence in a subject.

The recipients (Bible: Max Rieger, Business: Ben Peterson, Communication Arts: Emma Coats, Mathematics: Lucie Epema, Performing Arts: Charli Hinton, Science: Abigail Shanahan, Social Studies: Arin Nieto, Visual Arts: Tristen Hamline, World Language: George Hoelzel) were nominated by teachers and planned to major in their fields.

Residents along Douglas Street have raised concerns after receiving 30-day easement notices for an $11 million project that would remove 49 trees and install a 10-foot paved path—critics say the changes risk the historic character of the neighborhood.

Public Works Director Michael Park explained that the plan also replaces underground systems, and Mayor Bill Baird noted that another input session might be held if needed.
