Hundreds lined up outside Journey Church in Lee’s Summit on Wednesday to support the family of 14-year-old Noah Lakey, who died last week in a bike crash near the intersection (SW Jefferson Street and SW Scherer Road) as Hurts Donut Company from Springfield hosted a one-day fundraiser selling over 100 limited-edition tribute donuts.

Lee's Summit police said a wrong-way driver struck a westbound vehicle at 11:20 p.m. Tuesday on U.S. 50—just east of the MO-291 junction—before the driver was pronounced dead and a second driver was hospitalized with serious injuries.
