  • Summit Christian Academy announced that its Class of 2025 Summa Cum Laude recipients are Lucie Epema, Ngoc Hannah Ho, Brynne McFarland, Abigail Shanahan, and Michael Ward — each meeting tough academic rules. They spoke at commencement and 89 graduates received about $3.5 million in scholarship offers — a win for the school.  Lee's Summit Tribune

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey filed a lawsuit last Friday against Jackson County—Prosecutor Melesa Johnson and Sheriff Daryl Forte—for an ordinance that stops people under 21 from buying guns or ammunition and limits the types of rifles young adults may own; Bailey said the law breaks state rules by infringing on the rights of 18- to 20-year-olds.  KMBC
