- ➤ Jackson County Executive Frank White vetoed an ordinance calling for his recall election in August—he said it was unlawful, fiscally irresponsible, and violated state and federal election laws. The Jackson County Legislature passed the vote unanimously and will decide on a possible override today as the recall date of Aug. 26 faces lawsuits challenging its legality. KMBC
