- ➤ On Monday afternoon, August 11, people lined the streets by Deputy Elijah Ming’s memorial vehicle to pay their respects during his final ride — community members shared kind memories of his service as they said farewell. - ➤ Longview Chapel invites community members to join three free events in Lee's Summit, including a Back-to-School Bash and Ice Cream Social on Aug 17 at 11:45 a.m., Kids’ Craft and Storytime on Aug 18 from 10 to 11 a.m., and Supper and Study on Aug 26 at 6 p.m. The Bash will offer inflatables, water slides, cotton candy and ice cream, the craft event will feature a story of Joseph with related crafts, and Supper and Study will explore the Fruits of the Spirit—attendees are encouraged to bring a side dish and the church is located at 850 SW Longview Road.
