- ➤ Corbyn Barlow, an electrical Gas Turbine Systems Technician 2nd Class from Lee’s Summit, stood watch at the Electric Plant Control Console aboard the guided-missile destroyer USS John Finn in the Philippine Sea on June 26. The ship is forward-deployed as part of Destroyer Squadron 15 and serves as the U.S. 7th Fleet’s main surface force. Lee's Summit Tribune

- ➤ Children’s Mercy and Mercy Springfield Communities announced on Aug. 14 that they will expand pediatric care in southwest Missouri—adding new hospital services for children—and planning to roll out improved care soon.
