- ➤ Lee’s Summit launched Green Street—a nearly three-acre outdoor event space and indoor farmers market developed after years of city planning—Friday night, and today the space hosts a market with vendors, kids' activities, and live displays while Sunday will offer fitness classes. The project, initiated in 2007 and supported by a bond approved in 2013, brings the community together with family-friendly events. KCTV5
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Kansas City Area Transportation Authority approved a contract yesterday — it will fund public bus service for one year to keep transit running reliably. KCTV5
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ On August 15, the Missouri Gaming Commission awarded direct mobile licenses for sports wagering to DraftKings and Circa Sports — chosen over FanDuel — and these companies will let Missouri residents place online bets when sports betting launches on Dec. 1. KMBC
