EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Lee’s Summit North head football coach Jason Rogers resigned on Wednesday after the district self-reported MSHSAA rule violations involving incomplete physicals and registration — officials said a few players missed the requirements; assistant coach Deron Washington was named interim head coach to support the athletes. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Lee’s Summit city leaders approved on Tuesday a plan to form a solid waste task force—tasked with building parts of the proposal to switch the city to a single trash service. The task force may also help inform residents during the change as the city takes over trash collection for most homes. KCTV5
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Lee’s Summit North head coach resigned after additional violations were found in the football program—students were practicing without fully completing their physicals and registration. KCTV5
