COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ On Tuesday, tenants at Parker Square Apartments, Paraclete Manor Apartments and Sage Crossing Apartments (the largest union in the region) formed unions to demand that landlord Capital Realty Group fix unsafe living conditions that have led to issues like roaches and black mold. They will meet with the landlord on Thursday (to discuss repairs, rent transparency and pest control) as they push for safer living conditions. KCTV5
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A Lee's Summit officer who was shot while on duty is recovering after treatment at a local hospital—and his condition is being closely monitored by his department. KCTV5
- ➤ Mark A. Crump, a 55-year-old member of the Pagan’s Motorcycle Club from Lee’s Summit, pleaded guilty to a brutal attack on a rival gang member at a North Kansas City bar on July 20, 2023 — he now may face up to 20 years in prison pending his sentencing after the presentence investigation. KCTV5

- ➤ MODOT crews broke ground on the I-70 improvement project between Blue Springs and Odessa—by 2030 the highway will have three lanes from Kansas City to St. Louis and back again. KCTV5
