- ➤ Legislators in Jackson County asked the state tax commission to step in after the board missed a tax assessment deadline—warning that the oversight may delay proper tax reviews. KCTV5
- ➤ Three Jackson County legislators asked the Missouri State Tax Commission to step in after the county did not hold required Board of Equalization hearings before the August deadline—raising concerns that missed hearings may force a rollback ordinance to limit commercial property tax increases and prevent business closures. They said the county’s failure to offer due process puts local commercial property owners at risk and that further state action is needed. KCTV5
- ➤ Lee’s Summit Municipal Airport, located at 2751 NE Douglas Street, was renamed to Kansas City — Lee’s Summit Regional Airport as the city said the change reflected its role as a key regional gateway for business and leisure travel. - ➤ Missouri will enforce a new law on November 30 that requires porn websites—those with at least one-third explicit content—to check user ages to protect children from harmful material. Companies that do not verify that users are adults will face penalties. KCTV5
