- ➤ Longview Chapel Christian Church will host its Supper & Scripture event on Tuesday, Sept. 23 at 6 p.m.—participants will explore the book of Daniel while enjoying a taco salad meal with meat and chips provided and are encouraged to bring sides and toppings. Lee's Summit Tribune

- ➤ Residents in Lee's Summit see early fall colors because trees are stressed by the environment—experts warn that this change may signal problems for local foliage. KCTV5
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Voters gathered at a Kansas City town hall Monday night to ask Jackson County Executive Frank White about the recall effort fueled by stadium politics & big-money interests. Frank White noted that opponents raised issues like unused ARPA funds and high property taxes & critics said his attendance and follow-through were lacking. KMBC
- ➤ Jackson County Legislator Sean Smith said he will introduce a bill to study if Kansas City may use the county jail after it is vacated in 2026—he noted the proposal will help decide if repurposing the building is viable. KCTV5
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Chiefs coach Andy Reid recapped the team's 0-2 loss to the Eagles and said the squad will prepare for its primetime matchup against the New York Giants on Sunday night. KCTV5
- ➤ Friday night, Rockhurst, St. Thomas Aquinas, Gardner-Edgerton, Olathe West, and Raytown won their games while Blue Springs South went 31-7 over Lee's Summit, dropping Lee's Summit to an 0-3 record. Lee's Summit North improved to 3-0 after defeating Mill Valley in a key contest—local teams continue to shine in high school sports. KCTV5
