Today, Ride for the Fallen premieres at 8 p.m. in Independence to honor police officer Cody Allen who died in February 2024 when he responded to an ambushed call.

His family and community riders will ride 100 miles to remember his sacrifice—an event that reflects his lasting bravery.

Officer Blaize Madrid-Evans, fatally shot in 2021 while investigating a tip in Independence, donated his organs and saved lives such as former Springfield officer Mark Priebe, whose transplant gave him a second chance—KMBC 9 Chronicle’s 'Ride for the Fallen' airs today at 8 p.m. to honor his legacy.
