GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Frustrated voters rallied Sunday in Jackson County to urge a recall of Executive Frank White—citing high property taxes and poor attendance—and handed him an F on a report card. Early no-excuse absentee voting began last week and voters will cast ballots on September 30 to decide his future. KMBC
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ A report from the Missouri Veterans Commission showed that Missouri veterans died by suicide at more than double the national average—Lindsey Ward said the state will use the data to target mental health supports and boost crisis resources like 988. The commission is working to improve reporting delays and guide future prevention efforts. KMBC
