- ➤ Jackson County officials announced on Tuesday, Sept. 23 that a new partnership with Evergy will install 31 high-efficiency LED streetlights in the Blue Summit neighborhood to improve safety and reduce illegal dumping. The lights will provide 4,800 lumens for up to 50 feet and are expected to be installed by early 2026 — a measure to boost visibility amid longstanding dumping issues. KCTV5
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ Community Services League staff and volunteers built two affordable homes off Noland Rd. and E Waldo St. in Independence on Tuesday, September 23 using updated features like new countertops and fresh paint—a design that helps lower monthly housing costs to 30% of income. Students from the Independence School District helped construct the homes as the nonprofit works to boost homeownership opportunities for local families. KCTV5
