- ➤ Lee’s Summit held its first Oktoberfest since the new $44 million Green Street opened, featuring a stein hoisting competition on Saturday where Brandi Abel won in 2:11 (the festival also offers traditional German foods and attire). The event drew higher revenue from Friday night and will continue today from noon to 4 p.m. KMBC

- ➤ Jackson County voters have a few days left to cast early ballots in the recall election. Election officials said polling places will remain open and urged residents to vote soon—every ballot may change local government. KCTV5

Lee's Summit Housing Authority 2026 Annual Plan
The Lee’s Summit Housing Authority announces that beginning September 26, 2025, draft copies of the 2026 Annual Plan and 2025–2029 5-YR PHA Plan & CFP will be available for public review at 111 SE Grand Ave., Lee’s Summit, MO 64063, and online at www.hacls.org. Documents may be viewed Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM–4:00 PM, for 45 days in accordance with 24 CFR 903. A public hearing is scheduled for November 19, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the Lee Haven Community Room at the same address, where LSHA will receive and consider comments before finalizing the plans for HUD submission.
