- ➤ Two third-graders in a local school were dubbed heroes after spotting a house fire from their classroom window +their quick alert spurred a fast response from emergency crews+. KCTV5
- ➤ Captain Steven V. Wilhoit announced that the 23rd Annual Trooper Michael L. Newton Toy Drive began November 3 and will run until December 1. The drive, a cooperative effort of local law enforcement and business partners, collects new unwrapped gifts for children at KU Medical Center and Ronald McDonald House—honoring Trooper Newton’s legacy. - ➤ Missouri families who rely on SNAP will begin receiving their benefits by the middle of next week, the Missouri Department of Social Services announced Friday — and it is working with its EBT vendor to speed the process. KMBC
