- ➤ Lee’s Summit will host a free World Cup celebration on Dec 5 between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. at Green Street — a family-friendly event with soccer challenges, interactive stations, and live music that marks the start of preparations for the 2026 tournament draw day. KCTV5
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Missouri Attorney General Catherine Hanaway launched a statewide investigation on Friday into six companies selling kratom products such as 7-OH (a synthetic enhancer) to verify that products are safe and properly labeled. The probe includes two Kansas City companies and requires them to submit documents on production, labeling, and advertising by Dec. 19. KCTV5

- ➤ Travis Kelce caught a 21‐yard touchdown pass from Patrick Mahomes Sunday for his franchise-record 84th touchdown — he said he will decide his NFL future after the season. KCTV5
- ➤ High school football playoffs continue tonight as teams in Kansas play in sub-state championships and Missouri teams compete in state quarterfinals. In Missouri, Lee's Summit faces Liberty in the Class 6 game — winners move on to state semifinals while other games in Classes 5, 4, and 3 decide who advances. KCTV5
