- ➤ A poll shows nine in ten Americans now favor experience gifts over wrapped presents. Zoelee Donnell’s home sewing school in Lee’s Summit offers classes at about $20 per hour and materials (helping students build self-esteem by learning skills from basic sewing to embroidery) as they progress from pillowcases to tote bags. - ➤ Today, the Board of Education for Reorganized School District No. 7 holds a virtual meeting at 8:00 p.m. at Lee’s Summit West High School to review student issues (6) and (14) for the Belcher Scholarship; those interested in the closed session should contact the central office by noon. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Lee's Summit firefighters underwent a cancer screening test Tuesday that uses a device without anesthesia to check for esophageal cancer. The screening may help catch the disease earlier for a group facing a 14 percent higher risk. KCTV5
