Sounds of the Season at the Arboretum

About this event

As the holiday season arrives, the Overland Park Orchestra welcomes you to a Christmas celebration where music and imagination transform the Overland Park Arboretum into a winter wonderland. Gathered indoors at the Arboretum's Longhouse space, the concert is surrounded by the Arboretum’s serene winter landscape—evergreens standing tall in the cold, quiet gardens resting beneath the season’s soft glow, and the promise of holiday magic just beyond the windows.

This festive celebration evokes all the wonders of Christmastime: the sparkle of ice skates gliding across a frozen pond, reindeer dashing through snowy fields, and the cozy warmth of a crackling fireplace after a day spent in the winter air. The orchestra brings these scenes to life through joyful carols, shimmering orchestral colors, and beloved holiday melodies that glow with nostalgia and delight.

Inside the Arboretum’s welcoming space, the music becomes a tapestry of winter enchantment—snowfall in sound, light dancing across the room, and the familiar comfort of Christmas traditions shared with family and friends. It is a celebration of the season’s beauty, the magic of holiday storytelling, and the joy of gathering together for music that warms the heart even on the coldest days.
